Eva’s Christening | Melbourne Family Photographer

On Sunday I was invited to take photos for a gorgeous little girl’s christening. It was the first time I’ve been to a christening, let alone photographed one, so I really had no idea what was going to happen, or what sort of faux pas I was making while I was walking around clicking away. I tried not to take photos during prayers but my brain was preoccupied thinking about camera things and quite a few times I found myself snapping away half way through a prayer, which, I’m assuming, is probably bad? Aside from my fear of accidentally offending anyone, the christening was beautiful, and it was held at St Brigid’s Catholic Church in North Fitzroy, which is a stunning building.

After the christening, the little girl’s parents put on a garden party at their home, which was really delightful, and the weather was perfect for it.

Below is baby Eva with her Aunt (left) and Mum (right), and if these two women are anything to go by Eva has creativity in her blood. Her Aunt, Cinti, is a very clever and crafty lady who runs My Poppet, an online store full of gorgeous handmade and vintage things for kids, she also made Eva’s sweet little dress. And Eva’s Mum, Janet, decorated the party and put on the desert spread, some of which is pictured below.

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing a gorgeous little boy’s very regal first birthday party.
The party looked amazing, which was entirely expected considering it was put together by the overwhelmingly creative ladies at The Inspired Occasion, and the guests (both big and small) had a fantastic time. The charismatic guest of honour, Prince Sahib, was all smiles, and despite it being his first I suspect he caught on to the ‘birthday’ concept very quickly, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy being spoiled for the day.

Olivia | Melbourne based Children’s Party Photographer

On Sunday I had the privilege of taking photos at a very special birthday party, for a very special little girl.

Meet Olivia,

Olivia is an amazing, charismatic and sweet person, and although you’d never guess it if you met her, she and her family are going through a very hard time at the moment. Earlier this year Olivia spent two months in hospital after multiple tumours were discovered on her spine and brain. She still has ten months of chemo remaining.

And so, for Liv’s 6th birthday, the wonderful women at The Inspired Occasion decided to put on the greatest bash ever. They appealed to their suppliers, and donations poured in, in the form of decorations, food, dresses, entertainment, face-painting and much more.

Olivia chose rainbows and unicorns as her theme, and the party was the most fun, brightly coloured event I have ever seen.

The spread of food and sweets was visually amazing, as well as delicious.

The girls were all dressed up as gorgeous little princesses, and batman made an appearance.

The entertainers from Pass-the-Parcel were amazing, and the face painter was phenomenal.

All in all, the day was bright, sunny, and amazing. The party went off without a hitch, there were no tantrums or tears and the kids seemed to love every second of it. Especially Olivia.

Megan’s gorgeous family | Melbourne Family Photographer

So the following shoot is from over a month ago, and I’ve been very slack in blogging it (although I have been busy working away with my wonderful, patient Husband making my new website – – have a look!). It was an amazing shoot though, and I had such a great time meeting Megan and her family. Her eldest boy was loving his first modelling experience, and her youngest was just a drooling ball of delightful child. The four of them made the shoot exceptionally easy and fun for me.

Gorgeous pics. Exactly what I’d like for my family in a year or two.

Eurotrip – part 2

We got back from Europe two weeks ago today, and I’ve been meaning to update this site with pictures, but alas, I haven’t. I’d love to say it’s because I’ve been too busy and important since we got back, but really, I’m just lazy.
So, here’s finally some pictures of the second half of our trip, which we spent in Italy. Italy was amazing, everything about it was so picturesque, and the people were wonderful and laid back. Nothing seemed to open before about 10am, and even then the country would close for siesta a few hours later, and then stay open til 9 or 10 at night. Just like the rest of Europe, dogs were allowed anywhere and everywhere, and seemed to be treated more like children than pets. And then there was the food, oh the food, I can barely fathom the amount of pizza we ate, and even though it may have made us a little fat, it was so worth it.

In other news, in the coming weeks I will be getting a face-lift. I know what you’re thinking, ‘Don’t do it! You’re only 20, give gravity a chance to lower your face before you lift it!’ But don’t despair, the face-lift is for this website, although the website is only about a year old, so I guess that probably makes it worse.

Either way, stay tuned.
